Description
Coryza vaccine
Our coryza vaccine is for the immunisation of layers against infectious coryza, a bacterial disease predominantly affecting poultry birds.
It contains inactivated Avibacterium (Haemophilus) paragallinarum serotypes A, B & C in oil emulsion.
Layers are given two vaccinations with inactivated Izovac Coryza 3 between 6 and 16 weeks-of-age with an interval of 4 weeks between the first and second vaccination.
The offered product is a 1000-dose vaccine, implying that it will be sufficient for the vaccination of 1000 birds.
Coryza vaccine administration
From 6 to 16 weeks-of-age administer 0.5 ml of vaccine by subcutaneous injection.
There should be an interval of 4 weeks between the first and second administration.
Precautions
Store refrigerated at 2 to 8ºC. Do not allow to freeze.
Allow the vaccine to reach room temperature (22ºC) before use.
Shake well before and during use.
After opening, use within 10 hours.
In case of accidental human injection, seek immediate medical attention.
Vaccinate healthy birds only.
Infectious coryza
Infectious coryza is an acute respiratory disease characterized by nasal discharge, sneezing, and swelling of the face under the eyes.
It is found worldwide.
The disease is seen only in chickens.
The causative bacterium is Avibacterium paragallinarum, a Gram-negative and nonmotile bacteria.
In the mildest form of infectious coryza, the only signs may be depression, a serous nasal discharge, and slight facial swelling.
In the more severe form, there is pronounced swelling of one or both infraorbital sinuses with oedema of the surrounding tissues. This oedema may close one or both eyes.
