Flagentyl 500mg By 4 Tablets | Secnidazole

Composition
Each film-coated tablet of Flagentyl 500 mg contains :

Secnidazole: 500 mg.
Excipients: S.Q. for one film-coated tablet.

Indications
This medicine is recommended in the treatment of:

Trichomonal urethritis and vaginitis.
Amebic dysentery.
Amebic hepatitis.
Giardiasis.

Dosage and Administration
Urethritis and vaginitis (Generally):
Adults: 4 tablets taken as a single dose at the beginning of a meal (i.e. 2g).
Amebic dysentery:
Symptomatic acute amebic dysentery

Adults: 4 tablets taken as a single dose at the beginning of a meal (i.e. 2 g).
Children: 30 mg/kg/day as a single dose

Dose to be taken for one day only.
Asymptomatic amebic dysentery: same daily dose for 3 days.
Amebic hepatitis:

Adults: 3 tablets per day (i.e. 1.5 g/day)
Children: 30 mg/kg/day.

Taken as one dose or several doses at the beginning of a meal for 5 days.
