Fleming 457mg/5ml Suspension is an antibiotic medication used to treat bacterial infections. It contains a combination of two active ingredients:
Amoxicillin: This component is an analog of ampicillin and belongs to the penicillin family. It works by inhibiting the formation of bacterial cell walls, effectively killing bacteria.
Clavulanate Potassium: This is a beta-lactamase inhibitor. It helps prevent the breakdown of amoxicillin by certain enzymes produced by bacteria, thus enhancing its effectiveness.
Indications for Fleming 457mg/5ml Suspension include treating mixed infections due to gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms and anaerobes. It is effective against various conditions, such as:
Chronic sinusitis
Otitis
Peritonsillar abscess
And other bacterial infections in the upper respiratory tract, lower respiratory tract, ENT, gastrointestinal, abdominal, skin, soft tissue, dental, and bone & joint areas.
For pediatric patients, the dosing guidelines are as follows:
Mild to moderate infections:
Children aged 7 to 12 years: Take 10 ml of the 457mg/5ml suspension twice daily.
Children aged 2 to 6 years: Take 10 ml of the 228.5mg/5ml suspension twice daily or 5 ml of the 457mg/5ml suspension twice daily.
Children aged 2 months to less than 2 years: Individualized dose based on body weight.
Mild to moderate infections: 25 mg/kg daily.
More serious infections: 45 mg/kg daily.
