Nitrofurantoin?is an antibiotic that fights bacteria in the body. It is primarily used to treat?urinary tract infections (UTIs).?Nitrofurantoin is taken by mouth with food.

Common Side Effects:

Warnings and Precautions:

Kidney Disease: Do not take nitrofurantoin if you have severe kidney disease.
Pregnancy: Avoid using it in the last 2 to 4 weeks of pregnancy.
Breastfeeding: Nitrofurantoin can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby.
Not for Infants: It should not be given to a child younger than 1 month old.
