Winsor & Newton Galeria Acrylic Matt Varnish provides a unique removable protective Matt finish against dirt, grease, pollution, fading, and color shift. Matt Varnish can be used as a final varnish over a dried, well-cured acrylic painting when a flat, matt or very low sheen is required (and the use of ?Matt Varnish (turps-based) is not appropriate).
Winsor & Newton Acrylic varnishes give an essential final coating for finished paintings, helps to protect artworks from the build-up of dust and dirt which settle over a painting and could get trapped in the film, making it appear dull. It can be removed by using Galeria Varnish Remover. It can also be mixed with Galeria Matt Varnish to vary the final finish.
As this is permanent, do a patch test first then before varnishing ensure paint surface is fully dry (72 hours-two weeks depending on thickness), stir gently before use and while applying, look for surface bubbles by inspecting it from all angles and even them out immediately.
