5-cis Carbaprostacyclin is an isomer of carbaprostacyclin which acts as a stable analog of PGI2. It is a weak inhibitor of human platelet aggregation (IC|50|= 2.8 ?M, compared to 0.3 ?M for carbaprostacyclin). 5-cis Carbaprostacyclin is a much weaker effecter of rabbit mesenteric artery relaxation (EC|50|= 104 ?M, compared to 5.9 ?M for carbaprostacyclin). It even antagonizes the adenylate cyclase activation induced by carbaprostacyclin.
