The balls have a diameter of 10 mm and a tolerance of ? 0.5 mm. They are made of soda-lime glass. They have a circular marking over the entire diameter of the ball and are not engraved or screen-printed.
Boiling beads are small, solid glass balls that are placed in containers during filtration processes, e.g. distillation flasks, beakers, etc. When the liquid is heated, the function of the glass beads is to prevent it from reacting violently when boiling, i.e. they help to control boiling, make it more uniform and reduce the size of the bubbles.
