Description

This laboratory instrument is used to grind and mix tissues or other samples to obtain a uniform suspension of their components. It consists of a glass tube and a piston that fits snugly inside the tube. By squeezing and rotating the plunger inside the tube containing the sample, the cells are broken up and their contents mixed, allowing the sample to be homogenised efficiently.

It is essential in the preparation of samples for biochemical tests, as it can break down and alter a wide range of materials, such as animal or plant tissues, foods and soils.

They are made from borosilicate glass, a material that is resistant to high temperatures and chemicals, guaranteeing durability and safety in use.

They are available in different capacities, from 1 ml to 50 ml, to suit different sample volumes. Each unit has a screen-printed capacity for easy identification and a unique number that links the piston to its respective body, ensuring a correct and accurate fit during use. The volume of the homogenizer is measured when the piston is in the operating position.
