Laboratory instrument for use in filtration or separation processes
A filtration equipment consists of a funnel with a Kitasato flask connected to a vacuum pump or to a water circuit by means of a vacuum tube (creating the Venturi effect). For filtration of smaller salt solutions, a filtering material is used, flat disc filter paper cut to the diameter of the funnel base.
The physical properties of the laboratory porcelain, thanks to its composition of clay, quartz and feldspar, ensure a high softening temperature, which allows working with unglazed articles up to 1350??C and with glazed articles up to 1100??C.
