3M 501 White Filter Retainer

The 3M 501 White Filter Retainer is used in the 3M Filtrete Standard Air Filter to hold the filter together. The retainer is made of white, flexible plastic and is rectangular in shape. The filter retainer has several components that are connected at one end. There are two indentations on the top side of the retainer and there are two tabs on the bottom side. The bottom tabs fit into two slots on the top of the filter material and are used to secure the filter in place. As an optional feature, a clip can be attached to each tab to ensure a more secure fit. The retainer is removed from the filter when changing or cleaning it. This is a synthetic felt filter retainer designed to protect filters from damage during storage and handling. The white color helps prevent the formation of a visible haze on the lens surface when used with polarizing filters. The filter keeps all kinds of really nasty stuff out of your air conditioning unit, and when it's not there, you start to notice it a lot. One way to make sure that doesn't happen is with a 3M 501 White Filter Retainer. These plastic pieces fit into the slot in your vent where the filter goes, giving you a smooth surface for your filter to rest on, keeping it from scraping against the sides of the vent and potentially tearing away. 3M 501 White Filter Retainers are easy to install, just slide them into place, and then make sure that your filter is held securely in its slot.
