What is it prescribed for?

Obesity
This medicine helps in reducing the weight of obese patients with body mass index (BMI) ?30 kg/m2 or ? 27 kg/m2 in the presence of risk factors such as diabetes, dyslipidemia, controlled hypertension, etc.

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI) due to the increased risk of serious and life-threatening side effects. A time gap of at least 14 days should be maintained between stopping therapy with MAOIs and starting therapy with this medicine.

Severe Liver/Kidney Impairment
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver or kidney diseases due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient’s condition.
