INTRODUCTION
IROZORB SUSPENSION contains Ferrous ascorbate and Folic acid which belongs to the group of medicines called Hematinics. It is used to treat and prevent iron deficiency anaemia during pregnancy, lactation, post-surgery, haemodialysis?or blood loss during periods.
Anemia is when your body can?t produce enough of haemoglobin (a substance in red blood cells that enables them to carry oxygen), due to insufficient iron. Avoid consuming alcohol while taking IROZORB SUSPENSION.
IROZORB SUSPENSION is not recommended for use if you have iron overload disorders, haemoglobinopathies, inflammatory bowel disease or an active stomach ulcer. Before taking IROZORB SUSPENSION, inform your doctor if you have erythropoietic protoporphyria, diabetes, high blood pressure?or any kidney or liver issues.
IROZORB SUSPENSION should be used in pregnancy only if clearly needed. Safety and efficacy of IROZORB SUSPENSION in children have not been established so, consult your child?s doctor for advice.
The most common side effects of taking IROZORB SUSPENSION are stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, dark stools, stomach pain and temporary staining of teeth. If any of the symptoms worsen, call your doctor.

It is used to treat and prevent iron deficiency anaemia during:

Post-surgery

HOW IROZORB SUSPENSION WORKS
IROZORB SUSPENSION helps treat and prevent anaemia where Ferrous ascorbate aids in the formation of haemoglobin (substance that carries oxygen to tissues and organs via blood) and Folic acid helps maintain the normal formation of new red blood cells (erythropoiesis).
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Take IROZORB SUSPENSION as advised by your physician. Shake well before use. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS
Nausea:
Take IROZORB SUSPENSION with?or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy foods. If symptom persists, contact your doctor.
Vomiting:
Get adequate rest. Drink lots of fluids, especially water. Have small sips if you feel sick. Eat when you feel like it ? you don?t need to eat or avoid any specific foods. If symptom persists, contact your doctor.
Diarrhea:
Have enough liquids like water or fruit juice to maintain hydration. If symptom persists, contact your doctor.
Constipation:
Have plenty of fiber rich foods like fresh fruits, vegetables, cereals?and drink ample amount of water. Exercise more regularly. If symptom persists, contact your doctor.

IROZORB SUSPENSION should be used in pregnancy only if clearly needed. Consult your doctor for advice.
ALCOHOL
Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking IROZORB SUSPENSION. Consult your doctor for advice.
KIDNEY
IROZORB SUSPENSION should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Consult your doctor for advice.
LIVER
IROZORB SUSPENSION should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Consult your doctor for advice.
ALLERGY
Do not take IROZORB SUSPENSION if you are allergic to ferrous ascorbate, folic acid or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
HEART DISEASE
IROZORB SUSPENSION should be used with caution in patients having high blood pressure. Consult your doctor for advice.
OTHERS
IROZORB SUSPENSION is not recommended for use if you have:
Iron overload disorders (Ex. haemosiderosis, haemochromatosis)
Haemoglobinopathies (abnormal haemoglobin production)
Inflammatory bowel disease
An active stomach ulcer
Before taking IROZORB SUSPENSION, inform your doctor if you:
Have erythropoietic protoporphyria (a?rare genetic disorder that causes pain in the skin when exposed to sunlight)
Have diabetes
Are about to undergo any procedure or surgery
Use in Pediatrics:

INTERACTIONS

Before taking IROZORB SUSPENSION, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines:
Medicines used to treat acidity (Ex. magnesium hydroxide, sodium bicarbonate, aluminium carbonate, omeprazole)
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally take too much of IROZORB SUSPENSION, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
