INTRODUCTION
SALBUSUN T TABLET is a combination of Salbutamol and Theophylline which belongs to theroup of medicines called Anti-asthmatic drugs. It is used to treat and prevent asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It can also be used to treat chronic bronchitis (inflammation of the bronchus), bronchospasm (narrowing of airways), emphysema (shortness of breath) and sometimes even heart failure.
Asthma is a long-term respiratory disease in which your airways become inflamed, swollen and narrowed. It also causes excessive mucous secretion in the airways which makes it difficult for the air to pass through, leading to unpleasant symptoms like wheezing, difficulty in breathing, chest pain and/or cough.
COPD is a lung disease characterized by chronic lung inflammation and obstructed air flow within the airways. It causes wheezing, breathing difficulties, cough with mucus production and chest pain.
Avoid smoking and consumption of alcohol during treatment with SALBUSUN T TABLET, as it may change the way this medicine works. Before taking SALBUSUN T TABLET, inform your doctor if you have any heart, lung, kidney, or liver problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have diabetes, overactive thyroid functions, stomach ulcers, porphyria, epilepsy, or any viral infection.
Consult your doctor before taking SALBUSUN T TABLET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The most common side effects of taking SALBUSUN T TABLET are nausea, vomiting, headache, tremors, diarrhea, dizziness and muscle cramps. Contact your doctor if any of these side effect worsens.

HOW SALBUSUN T TABLET WORKS
SALBUSUN T TABLET is a bronchodilator. It relaxes the smooth muscles of the airways and widens them. It also blocks the release of certain chemical messengers in the airways (such as mast cells) that cause inflammation and swelling. As a result, it reduces airway inflammation, prevents the airways from becoming narrow and allows the air to pass through more freely which makes breathing easier.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Take SALBUSUN T TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with alass of water. Do not cursh or chew the medicine.
Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Do not stop taking SALBUSUN T TABLET without consulting your doctor as it may make your symptoms re-appear once again.

Severe allergic reactions (such as swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, red irregular raised patches on the skin with severe itching, breathing difficulties, low blood pressure, fainting)
Pain in the chest, jaw or shoulder accompanied with shortness of breath, nausea and vomiting
Clammy skin, wheezing, difficulty in breathing when lying flat
Irregular heartbeat
Signs of low blood potassium levels (such as fatigue, muscle spasms)
Signs of high lactic acid levels in the body (such as weakness, rapid breathing and stomach pain)
HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS
Nausea:
Take this medicine with or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oil rich or spicy food. Contact your doctor if nausea worsens.
Headache:
Rest and relax. Drink plenty of fluids such as water or electrolytes. Apply a pain-relieving balm on the head if required. Do not consume too much of alcohol. Consult your doctor if the symptom did not improve.
Dizziness:
Try to rest and relax.et enough sleep. Avoid driving or operating heavy tools or machinery while you feel dizzy. Avoid consumption of alcohol as it could aggravate your dizziness. Contact your doctor if dizziness worsens.
Muscle cramps:
Rub a pain-relieving balm or place a heat pack on the affected area for some time. Do not move the affected area frequently. Try to do some simple movements every day which would improve blood circulation and reduce further incidence of muscle pain. Try to eat a well-balanced protein rich diet, so that it can help to repair and rebuild the damaged muscle. Consult your doctor if the symptom did not improve.

BREASTFEEDING

DRIVING AND USING MACHINES
Do not drive or operate any heavy tools or machines if your ability is affected by SALBUSUN T TABLET.
ALCOHOL
Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking SALBUSUN T TABLET.
KIDNEY
SALBUSUN T TABLET should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
LIVER
SALBUSUN T TABLET should be used with caution in patients with liver problems. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
ALLERGY
Do not take SALBUSUN T TABLET if you are allergic to Salbutamol or Theophylline.
HEART DISEASE
SALBUSUN T TABLET should be used with caution in patients with irregular heartbeat or any other heart problems (such as angina). Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
OTHERS
SALBUSUN T TABLET is not recommended for use if you:
Have porphyria
Have peptic ulcer
Previously had threatened abortion (miscarriage especially during the first 6 months of pregnancy)
Before taking SALBUSUN T TABLET, inform your doctor if you:
Have thyroid problems (high or low activity of thyroidland)
Have diabetes
Have high blood pressure

Other medicines used to treat asthma or breathing problems (Ex. terbutaline, salmeterol, prednisolone, hydrocortisone)
Medicines used to increase urine production (Ex. furosemide, chlorthalidone)
Oral contraceptives (Ex. ethinyl estradiol, progestin)
St John?s Wort (an herbal medicine used to treat depression)
Medicines used to treat cancer (Ex. aminoglutethimide, methotrexate, lomustine)

Symptoms of overdose might include stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, low blood pressure, restlessness, overactive reflexes, unusual muscle stiffness, fits or a low blood potassium level causing muscle twitching or weakness with irregular heartbeat.
