This medicine is used in the treatment of active tuberculosis caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis when other antitubercular medicines like rifampicin or isoniazid are not effective or the type of TB cannot be treated with conventional therapy.
Tularaemia
This medicine is used as the first line treatment for Tularaemia, a serious infectious disease caused by Francisella tularensis, which causes fever, entry site ulceration, and may cause swelling of lymph nodes. It can also cause severe pneumonia.
Bacterial endocarditis
This medicine is used in the treatment of endocarditis caused by Streptococci and Enterococci, which affects the inner tissues of the heart, the endocardium, especially the valves of the heart.
Bacterial Meningitis
This medicine is indicated for the treatment of bacterial meningitis caused by group B Streptococci or Neisseria species.
