The National Universities Commission (NUC) accredited 18 Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) programs. The Commission’s October–November 2023 accrediting exercise determines the outcome. According to the Core Curriculum Minimum Academic Standard, the accreditation lasts five years from 2023/2024.
The NUC’s Acting Director of Accreditation, Engineer Abraham Chundusu, signed for the Acting Executive Secretary, Mr. Chris Maiyaki, wrote, “Section 10 (1) of the Education (National Minimum Standard and Establishment of Institutions) Act CAP E3, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004, empowers the National Universities Commission to lay down Minimum Academic Standards for all institutions.” In October/November 2023, the Commission accredited academic programs at the Federal University of Technology, Akure under the Act. Professor Adenike Oladiji said the finding justifies the University’s excellent faculty and recent placement as the Second-Best Federal University. She said the University would develop all fundamental skills and strengthen teaching, research, and community service to maintain its academic leadership.
