INTRODUCTION
MUCOBREX LC SYRUP is a combination of Chlorpheniramine and Levodropropizine which belongs to the group of medicines called Antihistamines and Cough suppressants respectively. It is used to treat dry cough due to various reasons. It is also used to treat allergic cough, hay fever, common cold, watery eyes, itchy throat/skin, rhinitis, urticaria.
Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking this medicine as this may lead to unwanted effects. MUCOBREX LC SYRUP is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver disease. Contact your doctor before taking.
Before taking MUCOBREX LC SYRUP inform your doctor if you have lung, kidney, liver or heart disease.
MUCOBREX LC SYRUP is generally not recommended for use in pregnancy. Contact your doctor before taking. MUCOBREX LC SYRUP is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women as it may pass through the breast milk. Contact your doctor before taking.

MUCOBREX LC SYRUP should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years or above). Contact your doctor before taking.
The most common side effects of this medicine are sedation, somnolence, exhaustion, constipation, vomiting, dry mouth, attention deficit, abnormal coordination, dizziness. Contact your physician if any of the side effects worsen.

HOW MUCOBREX LC SYRUP WORKS
MUCOBREX LC SYRUP helps to treat dry cough, where Chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine works by blocking the histamine H1 receptor and prevents the release of histamine (which normally produces symptoms of sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and runny nose) and Levodropropizine is a cough suppressant which relieves cough by activity on the cough centre in the brain.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Take MUCOBREX LC SYRUP as advised by your physician. Shake well before use. Your physician will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS
Nausea or Vomiting:
Take this medicine with, or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy foods.
Constipation:
Eat plenty of fibre rich foods such as fresh fruits, vegetables, and cereals and drink water. Exercise regularly.
Dizziness:
Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operate any machines while you are feeling dizzy. Do not consume alcohol, as it can aggravate your dizziness. Contact your doctor if the symptom did not improve.

ALCOHOL
Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking MUCOBREX LC SYRUP as it may lead to unwanted effects.
KIDNEY
MUCOBREX LC SYRUP should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Contact your doctor before taking.
LIVER
MUCOBREX LC SYRUP is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver disease. Contact your doctor before taking.
ALLERGY
Do not take MUCOBREX LC SYRUP if you are allergic to Chlorpheniramine, Levodropropizine, or to other ingredients of this medicine.
LUNGS
MUCOBREX LC SYRUP should be used with caution in patients with lung diseases such as bronchitis, bronchiectasis, asthma or chronic lung disorders (difficulty in breathing and cough). Contact your doctor before taking.
HEART DISEASE
MUCOBREX LC SYRUP should be used with caution in patients with heart diseases or heart rhythm disorders. Contact your doctor before taking??
OTHERS
MUCOBREX LC SYRUP is not recommended for use if you:
Have Kartagener?s syndrome
Have mucociliary function disorder??????
Before taking MUCOBREX LC SYRUP, inform your doctor if you have:
Depression
Diabetes
Gastric ulcer
Epilepsy
Increased blood pressure
Enlarged prostrate
High eye pressure
Overactive thyroid dysfunction

Use in geriatrics:

INTERACTIONS

Alprazolam, bromezapam, diazepam, clonazepam, clorazepate, chlordiazepoxide (medicines used to treat anxiety, fits, insomnia)
Buspirone, hydroxyzine (medicines used for anxiety)
Zolpidem (medicines used to treat insomnia)
Isocarboxazid, phenelzine, tranylcypromine and tricyclic antidepressants like amitriptyline, desipramine (medicines used for depression)
Linezolid (medicines used to treat bacterial infections)
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally took too much of this medicine, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
