Patient Trolley/ Emergency Trolley
patients who have a medical emergency are often brought to the hospital’s emergency departments in an ambulance, especially in cases where the person is unconscious such as trauma, cardiac arrest, strokes, and other conditions. During these emergencies, time is of the essence, and quick mobilization of the patient from the ambulance to the operating room, and the ICU becomes critical. Emergency trolleys play a key role in patient mobility. Their ideal design involves supporting patient care in transition and minimizing the time required to move from the ED to the operating room or the recovery ward. Therefore, they come equipped with a variety of features necessary for their utilization, such as IV stands, Oxygen cylinder holders, swiveling side rails, adjustable height, and backrests, etc.
The emergency department is always the first to receive patients in critical condition and often will have to provide the initial treatment that can mean the difference between life and death. In less severe conditions from accidents that result in bodily injury that is not life-threatening, they would still have to perform procedures that reduce the severity of the injury in the long run or put the patient at ease. Emergency trolley design should allow the emergency responders to attend to the patients with ease when they are transferred from the ambulance to the ICU or the ward.
