Its common name, milk thistle, is derived from the ?milky white?veins on the leaves, which, when broken open, yield a milky sap. The fruit portion of the plant is glossy brown or grey with spots.2-4 Silybum marianum contains silymarin, which is composed of the flavonolignans silybin, silydianin, and silychristine, with silybin being the most biologically active.
Silymarin is found in the highest concentrations in the fruit portion of the plant but is also found in the leaves and seeds. Contains silymarin 70mg, vitamin B1 5mg, B2 5mg & B6 2.5mg per tablet. Hepagard Tablet is used in the treatment of liver disease. It protects the liver from harmful chemical substances and improves the functioning of the liver.
Hepagard Tablet is to be taken in dose and duration as prescribed by your doctor. You can take it with or without food. You must take the medicine regularly at a fixed time each day to get the maximum benefit from it.
