Each suppository contains:

Active Ingredients:

Phenylephrine 4.5 mg

Dibucaine 10 mg

Shark liver oil 54 mg

Inactive Ingredient:

Hard fat.

DESCRIPTION

PHARMACEUTICAL ACTION:

? Phenylephrine is a sympathomimetic with direct stimulating effect on alpha adrenergic receptors causing vasoconstriction which increase resting anal tone and reduce swelling and relieves itching of hemorrhoidal tissue.

? Dibucaine is an amide local potent long acting anaesthetic used to relieve pain & itching

associated with anorectal conditions.

? Shark liver oil which is a form of vitamin A acts as emolient & protectant.

PHARMACOKINETICS:

Systemic absorption of phenyl ephrine follows topical application.

INDICATION:

? Relief of local itching burning & discomfort associated with hemorrhoids and shrinks hemorrhoidal tissue.

? Temporarily provide a coating for relief of anorectal discomfort.

? Temporarily protects the inflamed irritated anorectal surface to help make bowel movements less painful.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:

One suppository is to be inserted rectally up to 4 times daily.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.

PRECAUTIONS:

? If bleeding occurs stop using the suppository and ask the doctor.

? If conditions worsen and doesn?t improve within 7 days ask your doctor.

? Ask the doctor in case of children under 12 years.

WARNINGS:

? For rectal use only.

? Ask the doctor before administration H-formula if you suffer from heart disease , high blood pressure , thyroid disease , diabetes , difficulty in urination due to prostate gland enlargement.

SIDE EFFECTS:

Phenylephrine HCl is irritant and may cause local discomfort at the site of application.

PATIENT INFORMATION:

Clean the affected area before insertion of the suppository.
