INTRODUCTION
SYMBICORT 80/4.5MCG TURBUHALER contains Budesonide, Formoterol which belongs to theroup of medicines called Inhaled corticosteroids, long-acting beta-adrenergic agonists respectively. SYMBICORT 80/4.5MCG TURBUHALER is used in adults and children above 6 years for the prevention and treatment of asthma (respiratory disease in which airwaysets narrower, swell and produce extra mucus with symptoms of wheezing, coughing etc). SYMBICORT 80/4.5MCG TURBUHALER is also used to treat breathing difficulties and to improve symptoms of chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (includes emphysema and chronic bronchitis), as well as to reduce the worsening of Chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases for several days. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is aroup of diseases that causes airflow blockage and breathing-related problems.
Budesonide helps to decrease inflammation in the lungs whereas formoterol acts as a bronchodilator that helps the muscles around the airways in the lungs to relax. Together they help to ease breathing problems as well as prevent symptoms such as wheezing, cough, chest tightness and shortness of breath due to asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases.?Before using SYMBICORT 80/4.5MCG TURBUHALER, your doctor will advise you to perform certain respiratory tests to assess the severity of respiratory disorder and flow in the lungs.
SYMBICORT 80/4.5MCG TURBUHALER is not recommended to use for the treatment of sudden severe symptoms of asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or in cases when asthma is adequately controlled on low or medium dose inhaled corticosteroids. SYMBICORT 80/4.5MCG TURBUHALER is not recommended to use in patients who are allergic to any of its ingredients. It is not recommended to use SYMBICORT 80/4.5MCG TURBUHALER in children below 6 years of age. Before using SYMBICORT 80/4.5MCG TURBUHALER inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding. SYMBICORT 80/4.5MCG TURBUHALER should be used with caution in patients with liver diseases, heart diseases, increased blood pressure, fits, diabetes, thyroid problems, osteoporosis (bone disease), immune system diseases, eye diseases such aslaucoma (increased pressure inside eyes), cataracts (cloudy lens) and viral, bacterial, fungal, parasitic infections, exposed to measles or chicken pox etc. The common side effects of using SYMBICORT 80/4.5MCG TURBUHALER includes throat pain and irritation, flu, nasal congestion, fungal infection (thrush) in the mouth and throat, headache and vomiting. HOW SYMBICORT 80/4.5MCG TURBUHALER WORKS
SYMBICORT 80/4.5MCG TURBUHALER contains Budesonide and Formoterol. Budesonide helps to decrease inflammation in the lungs whereas formoterol acts as a bronchodilator that helps the muscles around the airways in the lungs to relax. Together they help to ease breathing problems as well as prevent symptoms such as wheezing, cough, chest tightness and shortness of breath due to asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Use SYMBICORT 80/4.5MCG TURBUHALER exactly as advised by the doctor. It is for inhalation use only. Shake SYMBICORT 80/4.5MCG TURBUHALER well for 5 seconds before administering. Just before using, breathe out and then put the mouthpieceently between your lips. Close your lips over the mouthpiece and inhale forcefully and deeply through the mouthpiece. Hold it for a few seconds. Then take the medicine out of your mouth before you breathe out again. Rinse your mouth with water and spit the water after each dose of SYMBICORT 80/4.5MCG TURBUHALER. Do not swallow the water. Children should use SYMBICORT 80/4.5MCG TURBUHALER only under parents?uidance. Your doctor will decide the correct dose, time and duration for, depending upon your age and severity of disease condition.

Chest pain, increased blood pressure, fast and irregular heartbeat (signs of heart problems)

Severe headache

Tremor and nervousness

Worsening of fungal infection in mouth or throat

Increase in sputum production, change in mucus colour, fever, chills, increased cough and increased breathing problems (signs of pneumonia or other lung diseases)

Rashes, hives, swelling of the face, mouth and tongue along with breathing problems?(signs of serious allergic reactions)

Retardedrowth in children?

Eye problems such aslaucoma (increased pressure in eyes) and cataracts (cloudy lens)

Signs of swelling of blood vessels in patients suffering from asthma such as feeling tingling or pricking sensation or numbness in your arms or legs, flu like symptoms, rashes, pain and swelling of the sinuses

Headache:

SYMBICORT 80/4.5MCG TURBUHALER should be used with caution in patients with active or quiescent tuberculosis infections of the respiratory tract. HEART DISEASE
SYMBICORT 80/4.5MCG TURBUHALER should be used with caution in patients with heart problems especially coronary insufficiency (insufficient blood flow through one or more coronary arteries), irregular heartbeat and high blood pressure. Consult your doctor before using.

INTERACTIONS
A. Drug-Drug Interactions:

Ketoconazole, itraconazole, voriconazole, posaconazole (medicines used to treat fungal infection)

Clarithromycin, telithromycin (medicines used to treat bacterial infection)

Indinavir, ritonavir (medicines used to treat HIV)

Monoamine oxidase inhibitors such as isocarboxazid, phenelzine and tricyclic antidepressants such as amitriptyline, desipramine (medicines used to treat depression)?

Beta blockers (Ex. atenolol, labetalol, propranolol), loop diuretics (Ex. bumetanide, furosemide) thiazide diuretics (Ex. chlorothiazide, chlorthalidone, hydrochlorothiazide) (medicines used to treat high blood pressure)

Salmeterol, formoterol fumarate, arformoterol tartrate (medicines used to treat asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)

Overdosage:

If you or anyone else accidentally use too more of SYMBICORT 80/4.5MCG TURBUHALER, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdosage are fits, chest pain, variations in blood pressure, increased heart rate, nervousness, headache, tremor, palpitations, muscle cramps, nausea, dizziness, sleep disturbances, metabolic acidosis, increased blood sugar and decreased potassium levels and in extreme rare conditions it may cause cardiac arrest and even death.
