INTRODUCTION:-
RANOLAZ OD TABLET contains Ranolazine which belongs to theroup of medicines called Antianginals. It is used to treat chronic angina.
Angina pectoris can be defined as a sudden, sharp and severe chest pain that originates from the apex of the heart and radiates to the left shoulder. It can be characterized by the presence of severe and crushing pain along with a feeling of pressure and suffocation, especially behind the breastbone.
RANOLAZ OD TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe kidney disease, moderate to severe liver disease. Contact your doctor before taking.
RANOLAZ OD TABLET should be used with caution in patients with mild to moderate kidney disease, mild liver disease and moderate to severe heart failure, abnormal ECG changes like like QT prolongation or long QT syndrome. Contact your doctor before taking.
RANOLAZ OD TABLET isenerally not recommended for use in pregnant women unless considered clearly necessary. Contact your doctor before taking. RANOLAZ OD TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women as it is not known whether it may pass through the breast milk. Contact your doctor before taking it.
RANOLAZ OD TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Contact your doctor before taking.

HOW RANOLAZ OD TABLET WORKS:-
RANOLAZ OD TABLET works by inhibiting the entry of sodium and potassium into the heart cells, thereby preventing the calcium influx causing vasodilation and reduces ventricular tension, myocardial oxygen demand. Thus, relieving angina symptoms.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:-
Take RANOLAZ OD TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with alass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your physician will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS:-

Headache:

Rest and relax. Drink plenty of fluids such as water and electrolytes. Apply a pain-relieving balm on the head if necessary. Do not consume alcohol. Contact your doctor if the symptom did not improve.

Nausea and Vomiting:

Take the medicine, with or just after a meal. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy food.

Constipation:

Eat plenty of fibre rich foods such as fresh fruits, vegetables and cereals. Drink plenty of water and exercise more regularly.

Dizziness:

Try to rest and relax.et enough sleep. Avoid driving or operate any machines while you are feeling dizzy. Do not consume alcohol, as it can aggravate your dizziness. Contact your doctor if the symptom did not improve.

RANOLAZ OD TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe kidney disease and should be used with caution in mild to moderate kidney disease. Contact your doctor before taking RANOLAZ OD TABLET.

LIVER

RANOLAZ OD TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with moderate to severe liver disease and should be used with caution in mild liver disease. Contact your doctor before taking RANOLAZ OD TABLET.

ALLERGY

Do not take RANOLAZ OD TABLET if you are allergic to Ranolazine or to lactose or other sugars or to any other ingredients of this medicine.

HEART DISEASE

RANOLAZ OD TABLET should be used with caution in patients with moderate to severe heart failure, abnormal ECG changes like QT prolongation or long QT syndrome. Contact your doctor before taking RANOLAZ OD TABLET.

Rare hereditary problems likealactose intolerance, the Lapp lactase deficiency andlucose-galactose malabsorption

Medicines used to treat heart problems or heart rhythm disorders (Ex. quinidine, dofetilide, sotalol, metoprolol, diltiazem, verapamil, procainamide, disopyramide)

Medicine used to prevent rejection of a transplanted organ (cyclosporine, tacrolimus, sirolimus, everolimus)

Medicines used to treat epilepsy (Ex. phenytoin, carbamazepine or phenobarbital)
