INTRODUCTION
Dulcoflex Tablet is a laxative used to treat constipation. It is also used in preparation of diagnostic procedures, in pre- and postoperative treatment and in conditions which require bowels to be empty. It contains Bisacodyl as an active ingredient which regulates bowel function and helps in the easy passage of stool.
Bisacodyl stimulates the smooth muscle of the intestine which causes normal peristalsis (series of wave-like muscle contractions that move food through the digestive tract). It increases water in the colon and also stimulates certain nerves in the colon which stimulates the muscles resulting in bowel movements.
Take Dulcoflex Tablet as advised by your doctor. Take 1 tablet at night to have a bowel movement the following morning. It should be swallowed whole with an adequate amount of fluid and should not be crushed or chewed. Along with this tablet eat a balanced diet including fresh fruit and vegetables, drink enough water, keep up your exercise, make time to empty your bowels when your body tells you. Consult your doctor if you experience any allergic reactions while taking it.

SIDE EFFECTS OF DULCOFLEX TABLET
Dulcoflex tablets may cause abdominal cramps or pain, diarrhea, or nausea in some individuals. Consult your physician if you notice any such side effects while taking these tablets.
SAFETY ADVICE

Always use Dulcoflex tablets as advised by your physician

Take 1 tablet at night to have a bowel movement the following morning

Swallow the medicine with a glass of water, do not crush or chew

Do not exceed the daily recommended dosage

Do not take Dulcoflex Tablet if you are allergic to any of its components

Dulcoflex tablets should not be used in patients with ileus, intestinal obstruction, acute abdominal conditions including appendicitis, acute inflammatory bowel diseases, and severe abdominal pain associated with nausea and vomiting which may be indicative of severe conditions

It should be used with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women. Consult your physician for advice

It should be used in children aged 12 years and above. Consult with your doctor.

Can I take Dulcoflex tablets along with antacids?
It should not be taken together with products reducing the acidity of the upper gastrointestinal tract, such as milk, antacids, or proton pump inhibitors, because they will stop Dulcoflex tablets from working properly. Consult your physician before taking it.
Is it safe to drive after taking Dulcoflex tablets?
Dizziness and/or syncope have been reported in patients who have taken Dulcoflex tablets. If they experience abdominal spasms, they should avoid potentially hazardous tasks such as driving or operating machinery.
Does Dulcoflex tablets help in weight loss?
Stimulant laxatives such as Dulcoflex tablets do not help with weight loss. They do not alter the absorption of calories or nutrients. In fact, they can cause watery stools (diarrhoea), abdominal cramps and dehydration.
For how long should I take Dulcoflex tablets?
Take Dulcoflex tablets for the time prescribed by your doctor. Do not overuse them or take them too much as they can cause lazy bowel (bowel muscles become too relaxed and can lead to long term constipation), low levels of potassium in the body, or dehydration.
