Digital tire tread depth gauge is used to measure the depth of the tire tread grooves so as to  know the degree of wear of the tire tread blocks, which helps to decide whether it’s necessary to replace the worn tire. The national standard:  the tread wear limit of radial tire for sedans is 1.6mm, because tires will easily slip if the tire tread grooves’ depth are less than 1.6mm, besides, longer braking distance will be needed. If such worn tires run on slippery roads, slip-float may easily happen, which may cause accidents due to the failure of controlling the steering wheel and the brake. Moreover, over worm tires can cause  blowout. 

* Usually, when the tire tread grooves’ depth is less than 3 mm, it is strongly recommended to replace the worn tire with a new one as soon as possible.

 * In winter ,if the tire tread grooves’ depth is less than 4mm, it must be replaced with a new one .
