INTRODUCTION
ACTEMRA 400MG contains Tocilizumab which belongs to aroup of medicines called interleukin-6 (IL-6) receptor inhibitors. It treats rheumatoid arthritis,iant cell arteritis (GCA), active systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis (sJIA) and polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis (pJIA). This medicine also indicated for severe or life-threatening cytokine release syndrome (CRS) following chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell treatment.
Tocilizumab is an anti-human interleukin 6 (IL-6) receptor monoclonal antibody of the immunoglobulin (Ig) which blocks a cytokine called IL-6 which is found at high levels in the joints affected by rheumatoid arthritis. Before receiving ACTEMRA 400MG, tell your physician if you have liver, kidney or heart problems, are pregnant or breastfeeding. This medicine is not suitable for use in children below 2 years of age. The common side effects are nausea, headache and dizziness.

HOW ACTEMRA 400MG WORKS
Tocilizumab blocks the action of interleukin-6, a substance in the body which causes inflammation. By blocking the immune system?s attack on normal tissues, it reduces pain, joint inflammation and tiredness leading to a better quality of life.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
ACTEMRA 400MG will be administered by your doctor or nurse by intravenously or subcutaneously. Your physician will administer the right dose depends on your health condition.
SIDE EFFECTS OF ACTEMRA 400MG
SERIOUS
Breathing difficulty or light-headedness
Rash, itching, hives, swelling of the lips
Chest pain
Yellow skin or eyes, dark brown coloured urine, pain or swelling in the upper right side of the stomach area
COMMON
Common cold
Sinus infections
Headaches
Increase or decrease in blood pressure
Nausea
Dizziness
Reactions at the injection site
HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS
Headache:
Rest and drink plenty of fluids. Apply a wet or cold cloth to forehead and rest in a quiet, comfortable, dark room.
Dizziness:
Get up and move around to feel awake and eat a healthy food to boost your energy.
?Nausea:
Take normal regular meals and do not eat spicy foods.

PREGNANCY
ACTEMRA 400MG should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Consult your doctor for advice.
BREASTFEEDING
ACTEMRA 400MG should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Consult your doctor for advice.
DRIVING AND USING MACHINES
Do not drive or operate any machines while taking this medicine, since it may cause dizziness.
LIVER
ACTEMRA 400MG is not recommended in patients with hepatitis or active liver diseases. Consult your doctor for advice.
ALLERGY
Tell your doctor if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Tocilizumab.
HEART DISEASE
ACTEMRA 400MG should be used with caution in patients suffering from active heart diseases. Consult your doctor for advice.
OTHERS
Tell your doctor before taking this medicine if you have or had:
Active infection
Tuberculosis
Diabetes
HIV/AIDS or a weaker immune system
Multiple sclerosis
History of macrophage activating syndrome (MAS)
Abdominal pain
Stomach, pancreas or bowel (intestine) problems or pancreatitis
High blood pressure
Increase in cholesterol
Any type of cancer
Are scheduled to have surgery
