Corticosteroids, such as fluorometholone, inhibit the inflammatory response to a variety of inciting agents. They inhibit edema, fibrin deposition, capillary dilation, leukocyte migration, phagocytic activity, capillary proliferation, fibroblast proliferation, deposition of collagen, and scar formation associated with inflammation.
