INTRODUCTION
AMDEPIN AT TABLET is a combination of Amlodipine and Atenolol which belongs to theroup of medicine called Antihypertensive agents. It is used to treat hypertension (also known as high blood pressure) and angina pectoris (chest pain caused due to lack of oxygen supply to the heart). It can also be used to reduce the risk of heart attack (myocardial infarction) among heart patients.
Take AMDEPIN AT TABLET as advised by your physician. Avoid drinkingrapefruit juice while taking AMDEPIN AT TABLET, as it could further decrease your blood pressure and may make you feel dizzier, drowsier or faint.
Before taking AMDEPIN AT TABLET, inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have asthma, diabetes, overactive thyroidland or low blood volume as a precaution.
AMDEPIN AT TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with other severe heart problems apart from hypertension and angina (such as heart failure). It is also not suitable for use in patients with severe hypotension (low blood pressure).
Consult your doctor before taking AMDEPIN AT TABLET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The most common side effects of taking AMDEPIN AT TABLET are swelling of ankles or other body parts, headache, dizziness, sleepiness, tiredness, racing heartbeat, indigestion, constipation, muscle cramps, cold hands and feet and slow heartbeat. HOW AMDEPIN AT TABLET WORKS
AMDEPIN AT TABLET contains two medicines namely amlodipine and atenolol. Atenolol blocks the effects of certain hormones (adrenaline) in the body that naturally increases heart rate. This slows down the heartbeat and makes the heart to pump blood with a lesser force.
Amlodipine is a vasodilator. It relaxes the blood vessels supplying the heart which improves blood flow and oxygen supply to the heart muscles. Collectively, they reduce the strain on the heart and improves heart functions.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Take AMDEPIN AT TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicines with alass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. AMDEPIN AT TABLET can be taken with or without meals.

Chest pain, shortness of breath (signs of heart attack)

Inflammation of pancreas (causing severe stomach pain that radiates to the back side of the body)

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS
Nausea and vomiting:
Take AMDEPIN AT TABLET with or just after a meal or a snack. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating rich or spicy food. Consult your doctor if your nausea worsens.
Dizziness:
Try to rest and relax.et enough sleep. Avoid driving or operating any tools or machines completely while you are feeling dizzy. Do not consume excessive alcohol, as it could aggravate your dizziness. Consult your doctor if your dizziness worsens.
Headache: ?

BREASTFEEDING
AMDEPIN AT TABLET should be used with caution in breastfeeding women as it may pass through the breast milk to the nursing infant. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
DRIVING AND USING MACHINES
Do not drive or operate any heavy tools or machines if you feel dizzy after taking AMDEPIN AT TABLET.
ALCOHOL
Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking AMDEPIN AT TABLET as it could make you feel dizzier.
KIDNEY
AMDEPIN AT TABLET should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems (such as dialysis). Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
LIVER

ALLERGY
Do not take AMDEPIN AT TABLET if you are allergic to Atenolol, Amlodipine or to any other beta blockers (such as propranolol) or calcium antagonists (such as nifedipine, diltiazem).
LUNGS
AMDEPIN AT TABLET should be used with caution in patients who have or previously had any breathing problems such as asthma. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
HEART DISEASE
AMDEPIN AT TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe heart problems such as heart failure, aortic stenosis (narrowing of arteries) or cardiogenic shock (inability of heart to pump blood). It should be used with caution in patients having a history of recent heart attack or heart failure. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
OTHERS
AMDEPIN AT TABLET is not recommended for use if you:
Have severe low blood pressure (hypotension)

Have a very poor blood circulation

Have untreated phaeochromocytoma (a tumor present in the adrenalland)

Have metabolic acidosis (high acid levels in the blood)
Before taking AMDEPIN AT TABLET, inform your doctor if you:
Have severe uncontrollable increase in blood pressure (hypertensive crisis)

Have diabetes

Have low blood volume (loss of fluids from the body due to vomiting or diarrhea)
