INTRODUCTION
AMTERICIN 50MG INJECTION contains Amphotericin B which belongs to the group of medicines called Anti-fungal agents. AMTERICIN 50MG INJECTION is used to treat invasive fungal infections in patients who are resistant/intolerant to conventional Amphotericin B therapy.
AMTERICIN 50MG INJECTION is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Amphotericin B. It is also not recommended for use in patients with common/superficial, clinically inapparent fungal infections (which are detectable only by positive skin/serologic tests).
Before receiving AMTERICIN 50MG INJECTION, inform your doctor if you are neutropenic, and/or have liver problems (such as hepatic impairment), and suffer from kidney problems/undergoing dialysis.
AMTERICIN 50MG INJECTION should be used with caution in pregnant and breast-feeding women only if it is clearly necessary. It is also used with caution in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years) and in elders (aged above 65 years) after consulting with the doctor.
The most common side effects of receiving AMTERICIN 50MG INJECTION are fever, chills, and/or rigors. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsen.

Treats invasive fungal infections in patients who are resistant/intolerant to conventional Amphotericin B therapy
HOW AMTERICIN 50MG INJECTION WORKS
AMTERICIN 50MG INJECTION binds to ergosterol (steroid present on the cell membranes of fungi) which leads to the formation of pores and ion leakage on the cell membrane resulting in fungal cell death thus treating invasive fungal infections in affected individuals.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
AMTERICIN 50MG INJECTION will be given to you only by a doctor or a nurse into a vein as an intravenous infusion. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

ALLERGY
Do not receive AMTERICIN 50MG INJECTION if you are allergic to Amphotericin B, and/or any other ingredients of this medicine.
OTHERS
AMTERICIN 50MG INJECTION is not recommended for use if you:
Have common/superficial, clinically inapparent fungal infections (which are detectable only by positive skin/serologic tests)
Before receiving AMTERICIN 50MG INJECTION, inform your doctor if you:
Suffer from neutropenia (condition marked by low count of neutrophils)
Use in Pediatrics:
AMTERICIN 50MG INJECTION should be used with caution in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years). Consult your doctor before child receives the medicine.
Use in Geriatrics:
AMTERICIN 50MG INJECTION should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged above 65 years). Consult your doctor before receiving AMTERICIN 50MG INJECTION.

AMTERICIN 50MG INJECTION will be administered to you only by a doctor or a nurse in a hospital, and so it is unlikely to receive an overdose. However, consult your doctor or nurse if you experience any unusual symptoms.
