Augmentin 625mg tabs contains amoxicillin 500 mg and clavulanic acid 125 mg. It is an antibiotic that belongs in a group of medicines called ? Penicillin?. Augmentin is indicated for the treatment of the following infections in adults and children.
Augmentin 625mg tabs is used for the treatment of:
? Acute bacterial sinusitis (adequately diagnosed)
? Acute otitis media
? Acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis (adequately diagnosed)
? Community acquired pneumonia
? Cystitis
? Pyelonephritis
? Skin and soft tissue infections in particular cellulitis, animal bites, severe dental abscess with spreading cellulitis.
? Bone and joint infections, in particular osteomyelitis.
HOW TO USE AUGMENTIN 625MG TABS:
Dosage: One tablet two to three times after every 8 hours. Consult with your doctor on dosages and duration as this may vary with different conditions. Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Augmentin 625 mg Tablet is to be taken with food. This will help to avoid stomach upset.

Before initiating therapy with amoxicillin/clavulanic acid, careful enquiry should be made concerning previous hypersensitivity reactions to penicillins, cephalosporins or other beta-lactam agents.
