This medicine is used in the treatment of Septicemia which is an infection of the blood caused by Staphylococci and Streptococcus pyogenes.

Gonococcal Infection
This medicine is used in the treatment of Gonococcal infection which is a sexually transmitted bacterial infection caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae.

Urinary Tract Infection
This medicine is used in the treatment of infections in the urinary tract caused by E.coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterococci and Klebsiella pneumoniae.

Pneumonia
This medicine is used in the treatment of pneumonia, a common type of lung infection caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae or Haemophilus influenzae.

Osteomyelitis
This medicine is used in the treatment of bone and joint infections like Osteomyelitis caused by Staphylococci and Streptococci species.

Surgical prophylaxis
This medicine may be used preoperatively, during a procedure, or postoperatively to prevent infections associated with a surgical procedure.

Bacterial Meningitis

Clostridium difficile-associated Diarrhea
Avoid the use of this medicine if the patient experiences severe diarrhea after receiving therapy with this medicine. Antibiotic therapy will cause an imbalance in the normal microbial flora in the large intestine, which promotes the growth of a bacteria called Clostridium difficile. This will result in severe diarrhea. Appropriate corrective measures and replacement with a suitable alternative should be considered based on the clinical condition of the patient.

Missed Dose
Oral forms: If a dose of this medicine is missed, take the dose as soon as you remember it. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next dose. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one. Injection/ Infusion: Since this medicine is administered in the hospital or clinical setting by a qualified healthcare professional, the likelihood of missing a dose is very low.

Overdose
Oral forms: Seek emergency medical treatment or contact the doctor in case of an overdose.
