what are the adverse effects of Coversyl tablet 4 mg 10?s?
Localised skin rashes, or flushing, angioneurotic oedema, nausea, abdominal pain, fatigue, asthaenia, headache, mild cough. Decreases in haemoglobin, red cells and platelets. Reversible increase in blood urea and creatinine. Proteinuria, pruritus, hypotension, dysgeusia, GI upset, muscle cramps, paraesthesia, dizziness, visual disturbance, tinnitus, dyspnoea. Hyperkalaemia, rarely, blood dyscrasias.
What happens if I miss a dose of Coversyl tablet 4 mg 10?s?
Adults: Perindopril (as terbutylamine): Hypertension: 4 mg once in the morning, may be increased to 8 mg once in the morning, if necessary, after one month of treatment. Maximum 8 mg daily. Elderly: Initially 2 mg once in the morning for one month, then adjusted according to response. Maximum 8 mg daily.
Hypertension, if used in addition to diuretic, or in cardiac decompensation or volume depletion: 2 mg once in the morning, may be increased according to response, if necessary, after one month of treatment. Maximum 8 mg daily.
Heart Failure (adjunct): Initially 2 mg once daily in the morning for 2 wk, then increased if tolerated to 4 mg once daily. Prophylaxis of cardiac events following myocardial infarction or revascularization in stable coronary artery disease: Initially 4 mg once daily in the morning for 2 wks, then increased if tolerated to 8 mg once daily. Elderly: Initially 2 mg once daily for one wk, then increased if tolerated to 4 mg once daily for one wk, then increased if tolerated to 8 mg once daily.
Perindopril (as arginine): Hypertension: Adults: Initially 5 mg once in the morning for 1 mth, subsequently adjusted according to response; if used in addition to diuretics, in elderly, in renal impairment, in cardiac decompensation, or in volume depletion, initially 2.5 mg once daily; max 10 mg daily.
Heart Failure: Initially 2.5 mg once daily in the morning under close medical supervision, increased after 2 wk to max 5 mg once daily if tolerated.
Following myocardial infarction or revascularization: Initially 5 mg once daily in the morning increased after 2 wk to 10 mg once daily if tolerated; Elderly: 2.5 mg once daily for 1 wk, than 5 mg once daily for 1 wk, thereafter increased to 10 mg once daily if tolerated.
Children: Not recommended.
