INTRODUCTION
DERMOTREX GEL contains Methotrexate which belongs to the group of medicines called Antimetabolites. It is used to treat psoriasis. DERMOTREX GEL is also used to treat active rheumatoid arthritis in adults which is a complex auto immune disorder resulting in the inflammation of the bones leading to swelling and pain. This medicine may also be used for vitiligo.
Psoriasis is a skin condition characterized by itchy scales that is not responsive to conventional treatment such as phototherapy and retinoids. Vitiligo is a skin condition characterized by loss of pigmentation resulting in the appearance of discolored patches on skin.
Before using DERMOTREX GEL it is recommended to inform the doctor about your medical and family history, including the list of medicines (prescription, non-prescription medicines and herbal medicines) that are being used or taken.
DERMOTREX GEL is not recommended to be used by the children less than 3 years of age, pregnant, nursing women and women planning to get pregnant. Consult your doctor before using the medicine.

It is used to treat:
Psoriasis

Active rheumatoid arthritis in adults (complex auto immune disorder resulting in the inflammation of the bones leading to swelling and pain)

HOW DERMOTREX GEL WORKS
DERMOTREX GEL contains Methotrexate which belongs to Disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs). DERMOTREX GEL decreases the undesired reactions of the body?s own immune-defence mechanism, thereby working as an effective immunosuppressant. It also exhibits anti-inflammatory effects, thereby reducing the pain, swelling and redness. As a result, DERMOTREX GEL treats and resolves the symptoms associated with rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Always apply DERMOTREX GEL as directed by your physician. It is for external use only. Your doctor will decide your dose and duration of application according to your age and disease condition.
WARNING & PRECAUTIONS

PREGNANCY
DERMOTREX GEL is not recommended for use if you are pregnant or are planning to become pregnant since it can be harmful to the foetus (growing baby) and lead to various malformations. Consult your doctor before applying DERMOTREX GEL.
BREASTFEEDING
DERMOTREX GEL is not recommended for use if you are a nursing mother. Consult your doctor before applying DERMOTREX GEL.
LIVER
