INTRODUCTION
ESCOT CREAM is a combination of Lignocaine and Nifedipine, which belongs to theroup of medicines called Local anaesthetics and Calcium channel blockers. It is used to relieve pain and relax muscles during the treatment or examination of anal fissures, thrombosed external haemorrhoids, post-haemorrhoidectomy, anal sphincter hypertonia, etc.
An anal fissure is a small cut or tear in the delicate lining of the anus that occurs when passing hard or large stools, causing pain and bleeding during bowel movements. Sometimes the pain caused by the anal fissure leads to contraction of the muscle that controls bowel movements and frequent bowel movements.

HOW ESCOT CREAM WORKS
Lignocaine is a local anaesthetic that numbs the area where you have applied it by stopping nerves from sending pain signals to the brain. Nifedipine is a calcium channel blocker that relaxes the muscles in the anal opening. This collective action is useful for relieving pain and healing anal fissures.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Apply ESCOT CREAM as advised by your physician. It is for rectal use only. Wash your hands before use and if possible, use a finger covering, such as a plastic wrap, cling film, a finger cot or a disposablelove.
