What is FORMOFLO 250?
FORMOFLO 250 contains the two active substances called fluticasone and formoterol
What FORMOFLO 250 is used for?
It is used,
To prevent breathing problems such as asthma and helps to stop you becoming breathless and wheezy
WARNING AND PRECAUTIONS:-
Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine, if you:
Are allergic to fluticasone or formoterol
Have tuberculosis (TB)
Have infection of the lungs or chest
Have heart problems
Have an abnormal bulging of a blood vessel wall (an aneurysm)
Have diabetes
Have high blood pressure
Have overactive thyroid gland
Have low blood levels of potassium
Have poor adrenal gland function
Have liver problems
Are going to have an operation
PRAGNANCY AND BREAST FEEDING:
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby ask your doctor for advice about using your medicine
CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS:
FORMOFLO 250 should not be used in children under 12 years of age
DRIVING AND USING MACHINES:
FORMOFLO 250 should not be used in children under 12 years of age
INTERACTIONS:-
Tell your doctor if you are taking,
Beta-blockers (such as atenolol to treat blood pressure, sotalol to treat an irregular heartbeat, metoprolol to treat a fast heart beat or timolol eye drops to treat glaucoma)
Theophylline or aminophylline, used to treat asthma or breathing conditions
Digoxin
Quinidine, disopyramide, procainamide
Tricyclic antidepressants such as amitriptyline and imipramine
Steroids such as prednisolone
Antifungal medicines (such as ketoconazole or itraconazole)
Ritonavir, atazanavir, indinavir, nelfinavir or saquinavir, used to treat viral infections including HIV
Certain antibiotics such as clarithromycin, telithromycin or furazolidone
Levodopa, used to treat parkinsonism
Levothyroxine
Procarbazine used in the treatment of Hodgkin?s disease
Medicine used to induce labour (oxytocin)
DIRECTIONS AND FOR USE:-
Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
You should use this medicine regularly i.e. two actuations (puffs) in the morning and evening
If you use more FORMOFLO 250
If you have inhaled too much of FORMOFLO 250 you must immediately contact your doctor or go to the nearest emergency unit
If you forget to use FORMOFLO 250
If you forget to use a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose
If you stop using FORMOFLO 250
It is very important that you using this medicine every day as directed by your doctor even if you feel well as it will help to control your asthma
SIDE EFFECTS:-
Stop taking FORMOFLO 250 and contact a doctor immediately if you notice any of the following.
Serious
Swelling of the eyelids, face, throat, tongue or lips
Rash or itching especially those covering your whole body
Dizziness, light-headedness or fainting or any sudden changes in your breathing pattern wheezing or shortness of breath
Uncommon
Worsening of asthma
Asthma
Shaking
An irregular heartbeat or palpitations
Difficulty in sleeping
Alteration in voice/hoarse voice
Dry mouth, sore or irritated throat
Rare
An increase in the amount of sugar in your blood. if you are diabetic you may need to check your blood sugar more often and adjust your usual diabetic treatment
Thrush or other fungal infections in the mouth and throat
Inflammation of the sinuses (sinusitis)
Fast heartbeat
Chest pain associated with heart disease
Muscle spasms
Coughing or shortness of breath
Changes in taste
Abnormal dreams
High blood pressure
A feeling of unusual weakness
Swelling of hands, ankles or feet
