INTRODUCTION:-
GLYCOHALE RESPULES containslycopyrrolate which belongs to theroup of medicines called Anticholinergics. It is used for maintenance treatment of airflow obstruction in patients having chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and/or emphysema.
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a chronic inflammatory disease of the lung that causes congested airflow from the lungs. Symptoms of COPD include difficulty in breathing, cough, mucus (sputum) production and wheezing. It is usually caused by long-term exposure to irritatingases or particulate matter, most often from cigarette smoke.
Before usingLYCOHALE RESPULES, inform your physician if you have kidney diseases,laucoma, prostate or bladder problems or problems in passing urine.LYCOHALE RESPULES should be used with caution among pregnant and breastfeeding women only if clearly advised by the doctor.LYCOHALE RESPULES should not be used in children younger than 18 years of age.
The most common side effects of usingLYCOHALE RESPULES are shortness of breath and urinary tract infections. Contact your physician if any of the symptoms worsen.
USES OF LYCOHALE RESPULES:-
Treats chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and/or emphysema
HOW LYCOHALE RESPULES WORKS:-
GLYCOHALE RESPULES works by blocking the action of a chemical messenger (acetylcholine) in the brain. This causes bronchodilation and helps the muscles around the lungs to stay relaxed and decreases COPD symptoms like coughing, chest tightness and shortness of breath.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:-
UseLYCOHALE RESPULES as advised by your physician. It is for oral inhalational use only. It is administered by nebulization using with nebulizer (with a face mask or mouthpiece) which is connected to an air compressor. Your doctor willuide on how to use the nebulizer. Do not exceed the recommended dose ofLYCOHALE RESPULES. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration ofLYCOHALE RESPULES for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
SIDE EFFECTS OFLYCOHALE RESPULES:-
COMMON
Shortness of breath
Urinary tract infections (strong urge to urinate that doesn?to away, burning feeling when urinating, frequent urination and passing small amounts of urine)
Stop usingLYCOHALE RESPULES and contact your physician immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
Sudden breathing problems or shortness of breath
Serious allergic reaction (symptoms include rash, hives, swelling of the tongue, lips and face and difficulty breathing or swallowing)
Acute narrow-anglelaucoma (symptoms include eye pain or discomfort, red eyes, blurred vision, seeing halos or bright colors around a light and nausea or vomiting)
Urinary retention (symptoms include difficulty urinating, painful urination, urinating frequently and urination in a weak stream or drips)
HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS:-
Nausea:
Use this medicine with or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating rich or spicy food. Ask for your doctor?s advice if nausea doesn?t improve.
Vomiting:
Try and eat light, bland foods and avoid fried, oily or sweet foods. Ask for your doctor?s advice if vomiting doesn?t improve.

PREGNANCY
GLYCOHALE RESPULES should be used with caution in pregnant women only if clearly advised by the doctor. Inform your doctor if you become pregnant while usingLYCOHALE RESPULES. Consult your doctor before using.
BREASTFEEDING
GLYCOHALE RESPULES should be used with caution in breastfeeding women only if clearly advised by the doctor as it is not known ifLYCOHALE RESPULES passes through mother?s milk. Consult your doctor before using.
DRIVING AND USING MACHINES
GLYCOHALE RESPULES does not alter your ability to drive or use machines.
KIDNEY
GLYCOHALE RESPULES should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Consult your physician before using it.
ALLERGY
Do not useLYCOHALE RESPULES if you are allergic tolycopyrrolate or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
OTHERS:-
Before usingLYCOHALE RESPULES, inform your physician if you have:
Glaucoma (increased pressure within the eye)
Prostate or bladder problems
Problems in passing urine
Use in pediatrics:
GLYCOHALE RESPULES is not recommended to use in children and adolescents younger than 18 years of age as the safety and effectiveness ofLYCOHALE RESPULES has not been established in thisroup. Consult your physician before using it for your child.
Use ineriatrics:
No overall difference in safety or effectiveness ofLYCOHALE RESPULES were observed between the elderly and younger patients. Consult your physician before using it.

A. Drug-Drug interactions:
Before usingLYCOHALE RESPULES, inform your physician if you are taking any of the following medicine:
Other anticholinergic drugs such as umeclidinium, tiotropium, ipratropium, aclidinium (used to treat asthma)
Sympathomimetics such as phenylephrine, pseudoephedrine (used in cough or cold)
Corticosteroids such as prednisolone (used to treat inflammation)
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally use too much ofLYCOHALE RESPULES, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. The symptoms of overdosage are nausea, vomiting, dizziness, lightheadedness, blurred vision, increased intraocular pressure (causing pain, vision disturbances or reddening of the eye), obstipation (severe form of constipation) or difficulties in voiding (urination).
