Act 20/120?is a combination of two antimalarial drugs:?artemether?and?lumefantrine. It is used for the prevention and treatment of malaria. The specific dosages and administration instructions may vary based on individual factors and the severity of the infection.
The 20 mg artemether/120 mg lumefantrine tablets come in blister packs of 6, 12, 18, and 24 tablets.
The treatment is administered 2 times daily for 3 days.?On the first day, the first dose is given at 0 hour and the second dose at 8-12 hours.?Subsequent doses on the second and third days are given 2 times daily (morning and evening).
The dosage depends on the weight of the patient.?For example, a patient weighing 25 to < 35 kg would take 3 tablets twice a day. It?s recommended to take the medication with meals or a fat-containing drink (e.g., milk). If the patient vomits within 30 minutes after administration, the full dose should be re-administered.?If the patient vomits between 30 minutes and 1 hour after administration, half of the dose should be re-administered.
