Hydrazine Sulphate CP – 500g
Hydrazine Sulphate CP – 500g, is more popularly known as hydrazinium hydrogen sulfate. It is a white, water-soluble salt composed of cation hydrazinium and anion bisulfate which is solid at room temperature, with the formula [N2H+5] [HSO−4] or N 2H 6SO4.
Hydrazine sulfate has a number of laboratory, industrial and medical uses. In chemical laboratories it is often preferred to pure hydrazine, because it is less volatile and is not as susceptible to atmospheric oxidation in storage.
Hydrazine sulphate is generally used in laboratories and the industrial sector as a safer source of hydrazine.
Common uses in these sectors include;
the compound being used as a catalyst in making fibres out of acetate
Analysis of minerals
As well as the for testing for arsenic in metals
In addition to its uses in chemical laboratories and the industrial sector Hydrazine sulphate offers a variety of medical uses too.
Medical uses include:
Used as a fungicide and an antiseptic
Alternative medical treatment for the loss of appetite in anorexic patients
For the treatment of rapid weight loss in cancer patients (cachexia)
Our Hydrazine sulphate is available in CP grade as well as AR grade 500g bottles and also available for bulk purchase in 25kg quantities.
