Product DescriptionFor ages, Lavender essential oil has been widely used because of its fragrance and health benefits. Ancient Phoenicians, Egyptians, and Arabians dipped garments in lavender and afterwards wrap mummies in them because of its amazing aroma. History is proof that Egyptians used lavender flowers for perfumes and for Pharaoh Tut?s mummy tomb discovered in 1923.
The Greeks, Persians, and Romans are known to have infused lavender into their bathwater to cleanse their skins. The words ?lavare?, originating from Latin, actually suggests ?to clean? ? hence, the name lavender. Besides, lavender oil is mentioned in the Bible for sanctifying and healing. And in Roman culture, the oil was also used for fresh air and even cooking.
Today, Lavender Essential Oil is popular for its non-traditional medicinal and healing properties. The flower spikes of the plant of members from the genus Lavandula, with the help of the steam distillation process, produce lavender essential oil. In this process, flowers are placed in boiling water which further produces lavender oil by separating steam and oil. This method is widely used to produce oil because it extracts a greater amount of oil in comparison to other methods.
