Description

Our Lemon balm is certified Organic.
Lemon balm is a lemon-scented herb that comes from the same family as mint. The herb is native to Europe, North Africa, and West Asia, but it?s grown around the world.
The first reported use of Lemon Balm in skin care dates all the way back to the 1300s. It is said that the Queen of Hungary used to apply the herb to her skin to help fight wrinkles.
Lemon balm has traditionally been used to improve mood and cognitive function, but the potential benefits don?t stop there.
Lemon balm is naturally anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. It is often used within cold sores and blister remedies, as well as in teas to help promote a restful nights? sleep.
There?s good scientific evidence behind the claim that lemon balm helps promote the healing of cold sores, one way to quickly use it for this is to steep the herb in either warm oil or water, extracting the benefits of the plant. Discard the plant material and use the strained juice straight on your skin, or incorporate it into a lip balm or salve base.
The lemon balm herb contains something called Eugenol, which is calming to irritated, sensitive spots,?Natural tannins, which are found in tea, are also present. These are naturally astringent. ?This herb is also rich in antioxidants, a protective ingredient to help fight free radical damage.
Used as a natural facial wash, or as a facial wash base ? those with acne prone skin will see results.? Lemon balm is highly antiseptic, and cleansing.? Add that with the power of anti-bacterial and you?ve found yourself a great herb to add to anti acne treatments.

The versatility of the lemon balm allows for it to be transformed into essential oil, liquid extracts, and creams. Although it is considered one of the most expensive essential oils, lemon balm?s uses in aromatherapy remain very popular. This is because of its mild, minty, and lemony fragrance that soothes the senses, relieves anxiety, and induces sleep.
Because of its anti-inflammatory, astringent, and antiseptic properties, lemon balm has found uses in perfumery and body care products. It can be infused into liquids and?added to formualtions for skin healing, as it constricts body tissues, minimizes pores, and smooths the skin?s appearance.
