Mixed Dyslipidemia
Lipitor tablet 10 mg 10?s is used to reduce high levels of LDL cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood (main constituents of body fat in humans and other animals, as well as vegetable fat). It also increases the levels of high density cholesterol.
Hypertriglyceridemia
Lipitor tablet 10 mg 10?s is used in the lowering of triglycerides in the blood.
Homozygous Familial Hypercholesterolemia
Lipitor tablet 10 mg 10?s is also used in the management of blood cholesterol and lipid levels in cases where the condition is inherited.
Prevention of cardiovascular diseases

Lipitor tablet 10 mg 10?s may cause an increase in the blood glucose levels along with an increase in the Glycated Hemoglobin levels. It is recommended to closely monitor the blood glucose levels. Appropriate dose adjustments may be necessary based on the clinical condition.
Muscle degradation in elderly

what are the adverse effects of Lipitor tablet 10 mg 10?s?
GI upset, headache, myalgia, asthenia, insomnia, dizziness, paraesthesia, fatigue, myalgia, hypoaesthesia, arthralgia, chest and back pain, hyperglycaemia, nasopharyngitis, pharyngolaryngeal pain, epistaxis, pain in extremity, muscle spasms, joint swelling, abnormal LFTs, raised ceatine kinase levels. Elevated ALT and CPK levels. Reports of immune-mediated necrotising myopathy.
What happens if I miss a dose of Lipitor tablet 10 mg 10?s?
Adults: Initially 10 mg once daily. Increase as necessary at 4 wk intervals; max 80 mg once daily.
Children: Under 10 yr, not recommended. Hyperlipidaemia including familial hypercholesterolaemia: 10-18 yr, initially 10 mg once daily, increased if necessary at intervals of at least 4 wk to usual max 20 mg once daily. Max 80 mg once daily in homozygous familial hypercholesterolaemia.
