INTRODUCTION
NITROGLYN 50MG INJECTION contains Nitroglycerin (Glyceryl trinitrate) which belongs to theroup of medicines called Vasodilators. It is used in adults to control blood pressure during operations or to improve blood flow during and after heart operations.
NITROGLYN 50MG INJECTION can also beiven to you after you have had a heart attack or to control angina attacks (sudden pains in chest) when other medicines have failed to work. Angina is a type of chest pain occurring because of reduced blood flow to the heart. Symptoms includes chest pain, difficulty in breathing, dizziness, tiredness etc.
NITROGLYN 50MG INJECTION is not recommended to use in patients who have heart or lung diseases, decreased blood pressure, increased pressure within skull, bleeding in brain, anemia, low levels of oxygen in blood or if you are taking medicines to treat erectile function (sildenafil) or increased pressure in the lungs (riociguat).
NITROGLYN 50MG INJECTION isenerally not recommended for use in pregnant women unless considered clearly necessary by the doctor. NITROGLYN 50MG INJECTION is not intended for use in breast-feeding women as it may pass through breast milk and children. Take your doctor?s advice before receiving NITROGLYN 50MG INJECTION.
Before receiving NITROGLYN 50MG INJECTION inform your doctor if you have severe liver or kidney diseases, malnourishment, low body temperature, thyroid diseases, closed anglelaucoma (increased pressure inside eyes).
Most common side effects of receiving NITROGLYN 50MG INJECTION includes headache, abnormal heartrate, weakness, drowsiness, dizziness (whileetting up from sitting position), weakness. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms doesn?t improve or worsen.
USES OF NITROGLYN 50MG INJECTION
It is used to,
Control blood pressure during operations
Improve blood flow during and after heart surgery
Control anginal attacks (sudden pains in chest) when other medicines have failed to work
Treat patients having a history of heart attack
HOW NITROGLYN 50MG INJECTION WORKS
NITROGLYN 50MG INJECTION causes relaxation of smooth muscles within blood vessels which leads to relaxation and widening of blood vessels. This improves blood supply to the heart muscles. As a result, it helps to relieve chest pain and blood pressure.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
NITROGLYN 50MG INJECTION will beiven to you only by a doctor or a nurse into a vein as an intravenous infusion (drip). Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and severity of condition.

COMMON
Headache
Irregular heartbeat (abnormally slow or fast)
Decreased blood pressure (may cause dizziness mainly while standing up from sitting position)
Weakness

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS
Headache:
Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated. Take adequate rest and sleep. Try to be stress and tension free. Avoid drinking alcohol. Reduce screen time. Apply pain balm if needed. Consult doctor before taking any medicines.
Dizziness:
Sit or lie down soon after you feel dizzy. Do not drive or operate any machines. Drink enough water. Consult doctor if it is worsening.
Nausea:

Vomiting:

BREASTFEEDING
NITROGLYN 50MG INJECTION is not recommended to be used in feeding women as it may pass through the breast milk. Consult your doctor before receiving it.
DRIVING AND USING MACHINES
Do not drive and operate machines if you feel dizzy after receiving NITROGLYN 50MG INJECTION.
ALCOHOL
Avoid consuming alcohol while receiving NITROGLYN 50MG INJECTION as it may affect your ability to judge and how fast you react.
KIDNEY
NITROGLYN 50MG INJECTION isenerally not recommended in patients having severe kidney diseases unless considered clearly necessary by the doctor. Consult your doctor before receiving.
LIVER
NITROGLYN 50MG INJECTION isenerally not recommended in patients having with severe liver diseases unless considered clearly necessary by the doctor. Consult your doctor before receiving.
ALLERGY
Do not receive NITROGLYN 50MG INJECTION if you are allergic to Nitroglycerine, other organic nitrates such as isosorbide dinitrate and isosorbide mononitrate or any other ingredients of this medicine.
LUNGS
Do not receive NITROGLYN 50MG INJECTION if you are allergic to Nitroglycerine, other organic nitrates such as isosorbide dinitrate and isosorbide mononitrate or any other ingredients of this medicine.
HEART DISEASE
NITROGLYN 50MG INJECTION is not recommended to beiven in patients with heart diseases such as inflammation of the outer lining of the heart or compression of the heart due to the collection of fluid around the heart, or angina pectoris (pain or uncomfortable feeling in the chest). Consult doctor before receiving NITROGLYN 50MG INJECTION.
OTHERS
NITROGLYN 50MG INJECTION is not recommended for use if you have:
Low blood pressure
Low blood volume (may be due to severe blood loss)
Increased pressure inside the head
Bleeding in brain
Low levels of oxygen in blood
Severe anemia
Before receiving NITROGLYN 50MG INJECTION inform your doctor if you are
Malnourished
Closed anglelaucoma (increased pressure inside eyes) or are at a risk of having it
Low body temperature

Epilepsy

Medicine used to treat erectile dysfunction (Ex. sildenafil)
Medicine used to treat increased pressure in lungs (Ex. riociguat)
Medicine used to treat increased blood pressure (Ex. enalapril, verapamil, propranolol)
Medicines used to treat depression (Ex. amitriptyline, amoxapine, desipramine)
Medicine used to relieve pain (Ex. morphine)
Medicine used to prevent blood clotting (Ex. heparin)
Overdosage
NITROGLYN 50MG INJECTION will be administered to you only by a doctor or a nurse in a hospital, and so it is unlikely to receive an overdose. However, consult your doctor or nurse if you experience any unusual symptoms like headache, confusion, fever; vertigo, increased heartrate, altered vision, nausea and vomiting, syncope (low blood pressure and fainting), difficulty to breath, heart block, decreased heartrate, paralysis, coma, fits and death. Some cases of methemoglobinemia (blood disorder) are also noticed.
