What is it prescribed for?

Human growth hormone deficiency
This medicine is used for the treatment of growth failure due to inadequate secretion of the growth hormone. It is used to treat growth hormone deficiency in both children and adults. The lack of growth hormone in adults may or may not be coupled with multiple hormone deficiencies.

Cachexia
This medicine is used to treat extreme weight loss and muscle wasting in adults and children caused due to severe chronic illnesses such as AIDS and certain forms of cancer.

Short bowel syndrome
This medicine is used along with dietary adjustments and nutritional supplementation to treat short bowel syndrome in adults. Short bowel syndrome is a malabsorption disorder caused by a lack of functional small intestine, causing severe diarrhea, malnutrition, and weight loss.

Turner’s syndrome
This medicine is used to treat growth failure in girls associated with a congenital defect called Turner’s syndrome.

Idiopathic short stature
This medicine is used to treat short stature in children, which is not attributed to the lack of growth hormone secretion.Growth retardation due to chronic renal failure

Growth retardation due to chronic renal failure

Active malignancy
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with an active malignancy due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient?s condition. Any preexisting malignancy should be inactive and its treatment course should be completed for therapy with this medicine to begin.

Diabetic retinopathy
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with active proliferative or severe non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient?s condition.

Closed epiphyses
This medicine is not recommended for growth promotion in children with closed epiphyses.

Allergy
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to Norditropin Injection 4 IU 1 Vialx1.3 mL , benzyl alcohol, or any other inactive ingredients present in the formulation.

Diabetes Mellitus
This medicine should be used with caution in patients with diabetes due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient?s condition. Appropriate corrective measures, dose adjustments, and monitoring of blood glucose levels may be necessary while receiving this medicine. An alternative treatment option may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition.

Intracranial hypertension
Use of this medicine may cause increased pressure around the brain, causing visual disturbances, severe headaches, nausea, and vomiting. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience these symptoms regularly after receiving this medicine.

Fluid retention
Use of this medicine may cause fluid retention in adults. Patients may experience muscle and joint pain, tiredness, etc. for transient periods while receiving this medicine. Contact your doctor if these symptoms are persistent.

Hypoadrenalism
Use of this medicine may cause a reduction in adrenal gland secretions and hence, it should be used with caution in patients with a pre-existing condition of hypoadrenalism. Thyroid hormone levels
