What is it prescribed for?

Human growth hormone deficiency
This medicine is used for the treatment of growth failure due to inadequate secretion of the growth hormone. It is used to treat growth hormone deficiency in both children and adults. The lack of growth hormone in adults may or may not be coupled with multiple hormone deficiencies.

Cachexia
This medicine is used to treat extreme weight loss and muscle wasting in adults and children caused due to severe chronic illnesses such as AIDS and certain forms of cancer.

Short bowel syndrome
This medicine is used along with dietary adjustments and nutritional supplementation to treat short bowel syndrome in adults. Short bowel syndrome is a malabsorption disorder caused by a lack of functional small intestine, causing severe diarrhea, malnutrition, and weight loss.

Turner’s syndrome
This medicine is used to treat growth failure in girls associated with a congenital defect called Turner’s syndrome.

Idiopathic short stature
This medicine is used to treat short stature in children, which is not attributed to the lack of growth hormone secretion.Growth retardation due to chronic renal failure

Diabetic retinopathy
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with active proliferative or severe non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient?s condition.

Closed epiphyses
This medicine is not recommended for growth promotion in children with closed epiphyses.

Allergy

Intracranial hypertension

Fluid retention
