What is it prescribed for?
Bronchospasm
This medicine is used to relieve the symptoms of bronchospasm such as wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, breathing difficulties, coughing, etc. in bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, etc.
Bronchitis
This medicine is used to relieve the symptoms of bronchitis where the walls of the airways swell, making breathing very difficult.
Emphysema
This medicine is used to treat emphysema, a lung disease that involves damage to the walls of the air sacs (alveoli) of the lung causing shortness of breath.

The effect of this medicine can be observed within 5 minutes of inhalation. Upon oral administration, the effect of this medicine can be observed within 30 minutes.
Duration of Effect
This medicine remains effective for 3-6 hours. The inhalation forms remain effective for a lesser duration in comparison with the oral forms.
Safe with Alchohol?

Report the use of all medications including herbs and supplements to the doctor before receiving Salbo HFA Inhaler 100 mcg 1 Inhaler.
Other diseases
Report the past/present incidence of all diseases including heart and blood vessels disorder, electrolyte imbalance, any disease associated with thyroid and other glands etc to the doctor. All the other conditions should be considered before therapy with this medicine is initiated.
Hypokalemia
Use of this medicine can cause a decrease in blood potassium levels and hence should be administered with caution in patients suffering from Hypokalemia.
Paradoxical bronchospasm
Use of this medicine has been associated with worsening of asthma symptoms in some instances. Contact your doctor immediately if breathing becomes more difficult after using this medicine. The use of Salbo HFA Inhaler 100 mcg 1 Inhaler should stop immediately in such cases.
Excessive use
It is recommended to use this medicine in prescribed quantities only as excessive use may cause some severe adverse effects and may prove fatal in some cases.
Milk protein allergy
This medicine should not be used in patients who have a history of allergy to milk proteins.
Use in elderly
This medicine should be used with caution in the elderly as the risk of adverse effects are significantly high.
Dosage
Missed Dose
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next scheduled dose, then the missed dose can be skipped.
Overdose
Contact your doctor immediately if an overdose with this medicine is suspected. Symptoms of an overdose may include dry mouth, shaking, chest pain, increased heart rate, convulsions, and fainting.

What happens if I miss a dose of Salbo HFA Inhaler 100 mcg 1 Inhaler?
Inhaler: Adults & Children: Acute attack, 1 or 2 puffs as necessary. Allergen or exercise-induced asthma, 1 or 2 puffs 10-15 min before challenge. On demand, max 8 puffs.
Respirator Soln: To be used with a respirator or nebulizer. Adults & Children: 2.5-5 mg up to four times daily.
