SILIBERINA Farma Valens – Food Supplement SILIBERINA? is a food supplement consisting of an association of: Berberis aristata (Berberis aristata DC.), Fermented red rice, dry extract of Milk Thistle (Silybum marianum [L.] Gaertn.) Titrated at 80% in silymarin, Gynostemma pentafillum (Gynostemma pentafillum [Thunb.] Makino), coenzyme Q10, policosanols, astaxanthin, folic acid, vitamin E, vitamin B6 and chromium. Plants belonging to the Berberis genus contain in the bark, roots and stems, including underground ones (rhizomes), a vegetable alkaloid: berberine.
Fermented red rice, obtained from the fermentation of common cooking rice (Oryza sativa L.) by the yeast Monascus purpureus, contains monacolin K, which contributes to the maintenance of normal cholesterol levels in the blood. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 10 mg of monacolin K.
Gynostemma pentafillum is a perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the Cucurbitaceae family, which grows spontaneously in China, Japan, Korea, the islands of Malaysia and India. It performs its function on the metabolism of carbohydrates and lipids.
Milk thistle is useful as a depurative and for its function on the metabolism of carbohydrates.
Folic acid supplementation is useful in case of a deficiency of this substance, a condition that can lead to high homocysteine values in the blood, a cardiovascular risk factor.
Other ingredients, such as policosanols, astaxanthin, coenzyme Q10, chromium, vitamin E and vitamin B6 complete the formula.
