INTRODUCTION
STOPBLEED contains Tranexamic acid which belongs to aroup of medicines called anti-fibrinolytic agents, which is used to stop or reduce unwanted bleeding. It is used to prevent and treat bleeding due to a process that inhibits blood clotting in conditions such as heavy periods in women,astrointestinal bleeding, haemorrhagic urinary disorders after having an operation on prostateland or urinary tract, after having an operation on ear, nose or throat, after having heart, abdominal orynecological surgery and bleeding after you have been treated with another medicine to break down blood clots.
Blood clots are formed by a protein called fibrin. There are enzymes in your body that break down fibrin which makes blood clots do not stay in place. This process is called ?fibrinolysis?. STOPBLEED is an anti-fibrinolytic which helps prevent fibrinolysis by stopping the fibrin from being broken down. This prevents the breakdown of blood clots and helps them to stay in place where they are needed (excessive bleeding during periods, or after surgery).
STOPBLEED should be onlyiven by a doctor or nurse. Before using this medicine, tell your doctor if you have liver, kidney or heart problems, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers. It is recommended to use in children above one year of age. The common side effects are diarrhoea and stomach pain.

HOW STOPBLEED WORKS

SIDE EFFECTS OF STOPBLEED

COMMON

Feeling or being sick

Diarrhoea

RARE

Allergic reactions includes a red and lumpy skin rash, difficulty breathing, swelling of face, mouth, lips or eyelids, unexplained high temperature (fever) and feeling faint

Swelling or pain in legs or chest, headache, weakness of the face and limbs on one side of the body

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS
Feeling or being sick:
Stick to simple normal meals and do not eat rich or spicy foods.
Diarrhoea:
Drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration. ORS should be used to prevent dehydration.
WARNING & PRECAUTIONS

PREGNANCY
STOPBLEED should be used with caution in pregnant women. Consult your doctor for advice.
BREASTFEEDING
STOPBLEED is excreted in breast milk, therefore it is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
KIDNEY
STOPBLEED is not recommended in patients with active kidney diseases. Consult your doctor for advice.
ALLERGY
Tell your doctor if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Tranexamic acid.
