Valganciclovir is an antiviral medication used to prevent infection with cytomegalovirus (CMV) that may occur after an organ transplant such as heart, kidney, or pancreas. It is also used to treat CMV infection of the eye in adults with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS).
