JAMB Begins Accreditation of Centres for 2025 UTME
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially commenced the accreditation process for Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres ahead of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). This accreditation is a crucial initial step to ensure a smooth examination process nationwide.
Key Guidelines for New CBT Centres
- Step 1: Interested new CBT centres must visit the official JAMB website to review the requirements for establishing a JAMB-approved centre. Access the guidelines here: CBT Centre Requirements PDF.
- Step 2: Centres should formally notify the JAMB Registrar of their intention to participate in the accreditation. This should be done through the Zonal Director or State Coordinator in their respective locations.
For Established Centres
- Centres that successfully participated in the 2024 UTME without issues are required to register their interest for the 2025 exercise via the Centre Management System (CMS) Portal.
- New centres will have accounts created on the CMS Portal by their respective Zonal and State Offices.
Mandatory Autobot/Autotest
- As part of the accreditation process, all centres must undergo an Autobot/Autotest to verify their readiness. This test is a prerequisite for the physical accreditation visit.
- Only centres that pass the Autobot/Autotest will be scheduled for the physical accreditation exercise in December 2024.
- Centres that fail to meet the Autobot/Autotest criteria will not be reconsidered.
Physical Accreditation Requirements
- Centres must meet several specific requirements, including:
- Proper fencing and a dedicated location (not shared with other businesses).
- Adequate backup power systems and a reliable power supply.
- Functional air conditioning systems to ensure a conducive environment.
Centres that fulfill all these requirements will be accredited to participate in the 2025 UTME registration and examination.
