Outrage has been aroused by a troubling occurrence at Bells University of Technology, Ota, Ogun State, where a male student named Tony is accused of assaulting a female student for disclosing his infidelity. Social media reports indicate that the altercation happened on March 10, 2025.
According to reports, Tony’s relationship with his primary girlfriend deteriorated after the female student sent him a video of him with another girl. Tony, who was furious about the publicity, allegedly attacked her on the school’s football pitch, causing her to sustain serious injuries, including significant bleeding from her mouth.
Tony allegedly forced the victim to apologise while threatening more violence, according to shocking footage from the event. According to reports, he captured her anguish on camera and wrote, “Other girls will learn from this.”
On X (previously Twitter), a worried social media user posted the incident, denouncing the behaviour and demanding punishment. Tony’s actions were widely criticised, and recommendations for disciplinary action against him were made as the tweet swiftly went viral.
There have been conflicting responses from the public. While some users have vehemently condemned the violence and called on authorities to act, others have questioned the victim’s decision to become involved.
