A teen from Georgia wins $15 million in college scholarships

Madison Crowell, an 18-year-old from Georgia, has received scholarship offers worth $15 million from 231 US universities because she wants to encourage other people to set lofty goals for their college careers.

Liberty County High School student Crowell said that choosing to attend High Point University in North Carolina was one of her best life decisions.

She believes that by reaching this goal, students in her neighbourhood will see that people from all backgrounds can attend elite universities.

Crowell persevered in the face of rejections from a few universities, using her experiences as motivation to inspire other youngsters to maintain their optimism and look for healthy ways to decompress during the application process.

Nido Qubein, the president of High Point University, expressed his joy over Crowell’s decision to become a part of their community and emphasized her extraordinary potential.

Crowell wants to become a doctorate in physical therapy and aspires to work in science. Her path started in middle school, when her parents took her on university tours to emphasize in her the value of a higher education.
