General Requirements for Admission to Newgate College of Health Tech Minna
HEALTH PUBLIC NURSING
- Registered Nurse (RNN) from Nigeria.
- National Diploma or its Nursing Equivalent.
The aforementioned must be held by holders of the fundamental O-level credits in English, mathematics, physics, biology, and chemistry.
TECHNICIAN FOR ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
Five pass candidates must pass the O’level WASSC, SSCE, GCE, or NECO in no more than two sittings. English Language, Biology or Health Science, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing, and any other course must receive three (3) credit passes.
WORKER FOR COMMUNITY HEALTH EXTENSION (CHEW)
At least two (2) sittings of the WASSC, SSCE, GCE, or NECO O’level are required for five (5) credit level passes. English language, math, physics, chemistry, and biology/health science are required. Additionally, there is a benefit for candidates who possess JCHEW credentials.
JCHEW: JUNIOR CLINICAL HEALTH EXTENSION WORKER
In a maximum of two sittings, three credits and two passes at O-level WASSC or NECO, comprising English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Health Science, and any additional two subjects.
ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT
Five O-level credits at the SSCE/WASSC or its equivalent in no more than two sittings. English language, math, physics, chemistry, biology or health science, and any other subject are required.
HANDICRIPTION OF HEALTH INFORMATION
HIM National Diploma (ND) with at least one lower credit
A minimum of lower credit and five (5) O’level credits in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology or Health Science in either WAEC/NECO at no more than two sittings are required for the Health Record Technician Certificate.
Applicants need to have finished their one-year industrial attachment. It is not necessary for ND candidates with an initial JAMB score of 150 to write the exam. On the other hand, applicants who do not possess ND certificates must score 160 or more on the JAMB.
PHARMACY TECHNICAL
Five (5) credits in the following courses at no more than two (2) sittings in the WASSC, SSCE, GCE, or NECO: English language, mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology.
Medical Laboratories Technician
Requires at least a passing grade in Physics and four credit passes in each of the following subjects: English language, mathematics, biology, and chemistry (WASSC/SSCE/GCE/NECO). (The Registration Board will reject results that are more than 10 years old as of the registration date).
Owners of medical laboratories. an assistant certificate bearing an O-level higher.
