Former Enugu Commissioner Becomes UNIBEN Associate Professor

Dr. Victor Chukwuemeka Nnam, the former Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development in Enugu State, now serves as an Associate Professor at the University of Benin (UNIBEN).

This appointment follows a letter from the university’s Deputy Registrar, Mrs. Omage-Umeh T. M., recognizing Dr. Nnam’s significant contributions to academia and public service.

After his tenure as commissioner, Dr. Nnam, who holds a Ph.D. in Geo-informatics and Surveying, focused on teaching and mentoring students at the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus.

He often engaged with students on a volunteer basis, showcasing his commitment to education and community service.

In response to his new position, Dr. Nnam expressed gratitude to the university’s management, stating, “I am deeply honoured by this appointment and grateful for the opportunity to contribute my expertise to UNIBEN. Education is my passion, and I look forward to inspiring the next generation of geo-informatics professionals.”

Dr. Nnam emphasized his commitment to advancing geo-informatics and fostering collaboration between academia and public service.

He believes his governance experience will be invaluable in enhancing the academic curriculum and providing students with practical insights into geo-informatics applications in urban planning and development.

His appointment will strengthen the Department of Geo-informatics at UNIBEN and enrich the educational experience for students.
